Dialogue Circles, based on the Peacemaking Circle model of Kay Pranis, are an effective and positive approach to building school connectedness. Dialogue Circles are a different way for groups of students to talk, and connect around important personal and school-wide issues, and to address conflict before it leads to punitive measures. When used in the classroom, dialogue circles can lead to easier classroom management and increased sense of student responsibility.
Circles are conducted by trained and experienced Circle keepers from CRCMC. We also provide trainings to teachers who are interested in using Circle in the classroom. They are meant to give participants a sense of empowerment, inspiration, connectedness, and voice while fostering action towards shared values.
