The Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County offers conflict resolution and prevention services to residents, businesses, government agencies, and non-profit organizations throughout the County, except for the City of Rockville whose residents may be served by the Rockville Community Mediation Center.
If you find yourself in a conflict situation with a neighbor, employer, colleague, business, family member, housemate or friend then mediation might be right for you. Mediation is voluntary, confidential, conducted by neutral mediators, and it’s free. Click here for more information.
If
your community, neighborhood, or homeowners’ association or nonprofit
organization is facing a troublesome issue, then you might like a neutral
facilitator to run your next meeting. Our facilitators have been trained to encourage all voices to be heard,
yet keep the meeting on track so goals can be accomplished. We ask for donations of $100 per hour for
each meeting that lasts an hour or more, but will not turn away any group that
cannot pay. Click here
for more information.
If
your son or daughter has been involved in fighting, name-calling, bullying, or
vandalism at school or in the community then community conferencing might be
appropriate. Community conferencing is
voluntary, confidential, conducted by a neutral facilitator, and it’s
free. Click here
for more information.
Dialogue circles are a way for groups of students to meet and talk about issues concerning them. Through the dialogue process, students learn communication skills, respect and gain awareness about themselves and others. It is a way for schools to give students a chance to proactively resolve conflicts before they become a problem that requires suspension or expulsion. Click here for more information.
Would
your group like a skills-building workshop to improve your conflict prevention
and resolution skills? Conflict
management training might be appropriate for you. We provide skilled trainers that can conduct
workshops ranging from one half hour to one half day in length. We ask for donations of $100 per hour for
each workshop that lasts an hour or more, but will not turn away any group that
cannot pay. We can also provide speakers
on conflict resolution for your next meeting, and if our presentation is less
than an hour there’s no charge to your organization. Click here for more
information.
